Making an Impression [Summer 2007]
Just before the schools broke up, Diggin It saw a team of 6 Stoke Damerel Community College students, with the help of the Children's Fund Participation team, organise a two-day event during which they created a sensory garden as well as preparing a fantastic bbq, salads, juices and fruit salad.

The garden is blooming and going from strength to strength! From the initial bramble-covered site, we have now landscaped, terraced, brought in accommodation, mains water, electricity, drainage, two polytunnels and storage for tools and equipment.

Diggin’ It has exceeded all expectations in terms of numbers of volunteers and people attending the project. Over 400 beneficiaries from a range of agencies and schools have enjoyed digging, planting, watering and tasting!
